Welcome to fourth grade! My name is Mrs. Laura Koch. I graduated from Christian Brothers University with a bachelor's degree in human development and a masters in curriculum and instruction. I received National Board Certification in 2010, and renewed my certification in 2020.  In 2020, I was named the District Teacher of the Year, and also received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.   I have been teaching at Richland for 22 years, and am very passionate about education.

I am always open to feedback from parents. I encourage you to comment on your child's work and progress not only to myself, but to your child as well. Open communication is very important to the ultimate success of the school year. I also want parents and students to know that I am human just like you! If I have made a mistake, (ex: grading work) please bring it to my attention. I am always happy to explain/help/answer questions. I want everyone to be successful!
