White Station Elementary is teaming with the MSCS vision of the 3rd Grade Commitment. We will be taking the school wide pledge to make sure our students are reading at a 3rd grade level by the end of 2nd grade.
We need you to assist us at home! How will you commit to your child this school year? You will find information and resources below to assist you. Please view the PowerPoint, look at the ways you can assist at home, and commit to the parent pledge.
WSE participates in the Accelerated Reader program. Students were given a book log to keep track with their reading. When students read a book, they can take a short quiz to receive points and add it to their book log. The more books they read, the more points a student receives, and they will recieve incentives at school! Click the link for a list of books that students can read to receive AR points. Books are listed by reading level.
As you may know, we provide COVID testing here at the school administered by Poplar Healthcare bi-weekly on Fridays for students whose parents have given authorization. The next scheduled testing will be this Friday. Weekly testing will begin on January 17th instead of bi-weekly.
If you would like for your child to be tested here at the school on those designated days, please click the link below and fill out the attached form. Please make sure your email is correct as they typically provide results the same day or within 24 hours.
This would be for students that have NOT already been getting tested bi-weekly.
PreK applications open Monday, March 21, 2022 for next school year! Visit www.scsk12.org/prek to apply. Click HERE for flyer in English. Click HERE for flyer in Spanish.
Do you have a student currently in Kindergarten-2nd grade and feel they may be eligible for CLUE?
Students MUST be reading 2-3 grade levels ahead of their current grade level to qualify. They must also be able to comprehend what they are reading independently.
For example: Current Kindergarten students should be reading on a 3rd grade level. Current 1st grade students should be reading on a 4th grade level and current 2nd grade students should be reading on a 5th grade level.
