Dedicated To Excellence
College visits on campus for juniors and seniors, with some explicitly for seniors only, will be announced through the Spartan Communication Announcement team. These announcements will also be posted in the Guidance Office, outside Mr. Waller’s room, and outside the 11th and 12th grade English teachers’ rooms.
To attend a college visit on campus, you must obtain a permission slip from Mrs. Fleming, Mrs. Heaston, Mrs. McClain, or Mr. Waller. The teacher of the class you will miss must sign the permission slip, granting you permission to miss class for the visit. Please note that the teacher has the right to deny your request to attend the college visit. The signed permission slip will serve as your hall pass.
A White Station faculty member will stamp your permission slip at the visit to confirm your attendance. You must return the stamped permission slip to the teacher who will then accurately record your attendance. Additionally, you will sign a legal pad with the college/university name and date for further attendance tracking. All visits will take place in the library unless otherwise specified.

As your student receives scholarships and state or federal grants, please list them on the form below only!! BE SURE TO COMPLETE ALL INFORMATION for scholarships from colleges and other agencies. Indicate, at the appropriate place, the one(s) that your student will accept. You or your student must submit proof of all scholarships on the form. This information will be used for the Board of Education Scholarship Report and to recognize your students’ accomplishments in the graduation program. IF THE FORM IS NOT COMPLETED OR THE DOCUMENTATION IS NOT INCLUDED, THE SCHOLARSHIP OFFERS WILL NOT BE LISTED IN THE GRADUATION PROGRAM. Scholarship types will be academic, athletic, ROTC, engineering, musical, art, or a specific University Grant. PLEASE email Mrs. Heaston (heastonha@scsk12.org) if you have questions about this form or scholarship types. The form should also report amounts awarded as FEDERAL PELL GRANTS, STATE GRANTS (TSSA, SEOG), or WORKSTUDY. Again, a copy of the award letter must be included. The award letters must be kept on file and will not be returned to you, so be sure that you keep the original copy. We realize that scholarship offers are part of an ongoing process; however, to compile the Memphis Shelby County Schools Scholarship Report and meet deadlines for the graduation program, please complete the form AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, but no later than 7:30 A.M. on Friday, April 25, 2025. If you receive additional money after this date, still turn it into Mrs. Heaston, even though it may not be included in the graduation program.

The 2024-25 Student Guide to Secondary Education is a useful tool for students and parents to learn about MSCS course offerings, graduation requirements, and policies relevant to the high school program.
