    Are you ready for the next grade level? Well, use this summer to prepare for next school year! Below is a list of the required novels for summer reading for each grade level. A reading test will be given during the first two weeks of school in the Honors English courses. Also, all written work must be submitted by Friday of the first week of school unless otherwise noted differently below.

    Stop the Press, and help us congratulate the Golden Wildcat Baseball Team led by Coach House and Coach Harrison on becoming City Champions!!!!
     
    On May 4, 2022, the MHS Baseball Team was victorious versus Kirby. The battle was for 1st place in the district. Those Golden Boys played Kirby and won with a score of 4-1.
     
    "We are in 1st place by 2 games, which makes us the regular season champions with an overall record of 10-2 and 6-0 in district play."
     
    The Baseball Tournament will start Tuesday, May 10, 2022, here at Melrose vs Ridgeway at 4:00pm. Come out and support those Golden Wildcats!

    Only a few MSCS High Schools earned the distinction of FAFSA Champion for the 2021-2022 academic year. This designation is awarded to schools whose Tennessee Promise FAFSA completion rate increased by 5+% over the previous year, or those whose Tennessee Promise FAFSA completion rate exceeds 95%.
     
    MHS received a FAFSA Champion banner as a token of gratitude and recognition of their school’s commitment to expanding a college-going culture.

    It's been 37 years since the boys and girls basketball teams have both won the city and district championship together!

    Summer Learning Academy is a great opportunity to help your child improve their skills in reading and math so they do not struggle when they enter
    the next grade this fall.
     
    MSCS is offering free transportation for eligible students. Plus, meals are provided every day, and we have the YMCA's before/after-school program.

  • Congratulations to all MHS Scholars who have earned Honors for the 2nd Quarter. We are looking for many more to join this prestigious group for 3rd Quarter.  The students earned Principal's List (All A's no N's and U's) and Honor Roll (All A's and B's no N's and U's).  We would like to say job well done and keep up the good work!
