Mr. Kristopher Davis
Principal Kristopher Davis has been an educator for 10 years. Starting his career as an English teacher with the Hamilton County Department of Education in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mr. Davis moved back home to Memphis to serve Shelby County Schools in 2014.
Mr. Davis attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he was a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Scholar and a State of Tennessee Minority Teaching Fellow. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education English and a Master of Education degree as a Secondary Reading Specialist. He also earned a certificate in Educational Leadership from Christian Brothers University and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Educational Leadership degree from Arkansas State University.
Before his advancement to principal, Mr. Davis was the Assistant Principal for the Freshman Academy here at Melrose High. Also, Mr. Davis served Melrose High School and the Orange Mound community as a 9th grade English teacher for 7 years. He sponsored the Golden Wildcat Yearbook, co-chaired the Senior class, co-chaired the Freshman class, served as a partner in Melrose’s Homecoming festivities for both football and basketball, worked as a department chair and Instructional Content Lead for the English department, was a District presenter for the iZone, and worked in many other capacities.
Mr. Davis is so PROUD to call Melrose High School home. He is truly honored to serve the students and families of Orange Mound.
