Principal Hardaway

I am Dr. Derrick Hardaway, and I am excited to be the Principal of Melrose High School! I am truly humbled by the opportunity to be a Golden Wildcat and to serve the Orange Mound community. As Principal, I aim to support the vision and mission of Shelby County Schools by building relationships with families, the community, and alumni to promote positive change for our students as we Reimagine 901. I am committed to the belief that all children must learn which demands that I work tirelessly to make this belief reality. Melrose is ripe with potential, and it’s time to reap a harvest. Thus, my goal as Principal is to create a safe haven for our students where high-quality teaching and learning occurs each day that will prepare them to reach their fullest potential in college, career, and society.
