  • A Message From Principal Barber:

    Mr. Barber, Principal

Greetings parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends of Grandview Heights Middle School. I pray all of you are doing well by remaining safe and remaining calm during this unfamiliar period of time. I also encourage our students, faculty, and staff as well as all others finding themselves in an interrupted routine to take this time to rest, relax, and reset. Panic and paranoia don't produce anything positive or productive.
I understand there are many questions due to so many unknowns and at this moment I am awaiting information in order to hopefully in the very near future be able to provided informed answers. In the meantime stay abreast to accurate news and follow recommendations and regulations delivered by our health and local government agencies.
During this time of separation and isolation we still have an opportunity to continue our children's education. Our school's website will be updating with links to resources to assist in keeping our students' minds sharpened during this extended break. I encourage our students to whatever is available. I encourage our students to write and for parents to read what their children write. I encourage students to lead family conversations and discuss their feelings and thoughts during this time. I'm certain many of our students are and will engage in social media during this time and I encourage parents to ensure that time is also invested into learning media as well during this time.

As our leaders determine our course of action moving forward, I want to remind all of my Grand People no one has to direct us to love each other, check on each other, and pray for one another. We are Grand because of who we are, what we do, and what we have the strength to overcome. This too shall pass and we will continue to be Grand. I look forward to our reconnecting, but until then we will find other ways to remain connected.
