Early Kindergarten Entry Screening- Early kindergarten entry screening is being conducted by the SCS Department of Assessment and Accountability July 13-17 and July 20-24. Students turning five years old from August 16 to September 30 may be screened for early kindergarten entry. Children turning five by August 15 do not need to be screened, and children turning five after September 30 cannot be screened and must wait until the following school year to enter kindergarten.
Parents who wish to enroll their child in kindergarten early in a district managed school or a charter school must set up an appointment for their child to be screened by the Department of Assessment and Accountability. Parents can set up an early kindergarten entry screening appointment by calling 416-5450. More information on early kindergarten entry screening can be found on the SCS website by clicking here: Kindergarten Information
