Students should have access to instruments and other musical devices in the Music and Movement interest area.  Through musical activities, children learn to recognize repetitive patterns and practice pronouncing words in songs.  When introducing musical instruments and devices to students, it is important that teachers first demonstrate proper use and care of these materials before allowing students to use them independently.  Avoid placing musical instruments that may cause cross contaminaton such as harmonicas, recorders, and kazoos in this area.
