Ms. Meredith Schoel

Fourth Grade - 01

I am Meredith Schoel, and I teach fourth grade reading at Idlewild! I have degrees in Educational Studies and Psychology from Rhodes College, and I am currently working towards a Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Memphis. Before teaching at Idlewild, I taught fifth grade at Berclair Elementary. I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, but lived in Birmingham, Alabama before moving to Memphis. I am thrilled to be teaching in the neighborhood I call home!

I became a teacher because I have a deep passion for learning, and my goal is to develop the same passion in my students! I firmly believe that all children possess valuable cultural knowledge, so I am so excited to build a classroom community in which all of our experiences are shared and celebrated! Outside of teaching, I love traveling, rock climbing, reading, and anything outdoors.

Hi, welcome to 4th grade Science, I'm Mr. Bowlin.  This is my 13th year teaching within our district and my 2nd year as a part of the Idlewild family.  I've been married for 17 years and have two children, a 6th grader and a 8th grader.  I enjoy spending time with my family,  and rooting for the Mississippi State Bulldogs!  My goal is to encourage students in having a positive growth mindset while trying to be the best versions of themselves.

Ms. Allison Otting

Fourth Grade - 04

I've been a teacher for 10 years, 8 of those years in the Shelby County. I taught in the Mississippi Delta before moving to Memphis. I am originally from outside of Nashville, and I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2012 with a degree in Political Science and a minor in English, so I truly love the subjects of Social Studies and Writing. I'm a history buff and very passionate about civil engagement. I also love spending time with my dog, Tally.
