Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! This year, I am teaching Computer Science, the new graduation requirement beginning with the class of 2028. This marks the beginning of my 20th year teaching at Craigmont High and the beginning of my 26th year of teaching.
I spend a lot of my spare time doing my favorite thing--reading books, especially African American literature! So far this year I have read 54 books, which means I am about halfway to my goal of 70 books. I completed 22 books this summer! My 12th grade English teacher, Mrs. Cora Lewis is responsible for my love for African American literature. I call her my book pusher because she always has great recommendations! Yes, she and I still talk after more than 35 years!
I am a proud alumnus of Tennessee State University, where I obtained my bachelor's degree. I also hold a Master's degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, where I lived for 8 years. I am the mother of a son who is serving in the United States Navy.
