Jason Kelly
Greetings mortals, I am Mr. Kelly the technology guy. I am so awesome that they have a giant poster of me in the hallway. I teach the Information Technology classes at Craigmont which consist of the following path::
- Computer Science Foundations
- Coding I
- Coding II
- Coding Practicum
Students will begin with Computer Science Foundations where they will learn all the basics about hardware, software, networking, cybersecurity, and much more. At the end of the course they will take the Comptia ITF+ certification test. This certification is an excellent starting point for anyone pursuing a career in information technology and will open up the door for future certifications. The following year, students will begin coding in JavaScript. This will continue thru the third year (Coding II) and at the end of the course the students will have the opportunity to take the CIW JavaScript Specialist certification - a very valuable certification that will open up job opportunities right out of high school, or that can be built upon in higher education. In the final year of the program, students will learn game design using Unity. Students will design 2D and 3D games and code them using C# language.
I also am the yearbook adviser. The yearbook is offered as a class during the school year where we design a book that has been recognized as one of the "who's who of yearbooks" in Balfour's annual Yearbook Yearbook. If you have any questions concerning senior heads, or anything of the like - please reach out to me.
