Ms. Sacara Flowers
Welcome! I am Sacara Flowers! I am one of the kindergarten teachers at Lucy Elementary. This will be my 4th school year teaching. I learned so much last school year and I enjoyed every minute of it. I am so excited about teaching all that I know and learning all that I need to know. I have 20 plus years of working with children. I graduated from Millington Central High School in 1999. I went on to pursue a degree in business management. I received my Associate's Degree from Southwest Tennessee Community College in 2004. I worked for Head Start for most of my 20 plus years. It was the best! In 2018, I decided to complete my Bachelor's degree and changed my major to Education. I enjoyed working with children so much, that I decided to make a career out of it. I graduated from the University of Memphis in 2019. I began a career at Memphis-Shelby County School in 2021 as a Specialized Education Assistant at Northaven Elementary and enrolled in Graduate school. I passed my Praxis on the first try and became licensed all in that same year. I immediately applied for a teaching position at Lucy Elementary, which was the official start of my career. I recently graduated from Relay Graduate School with a Master's degree in Education.
I have 3 children of my own; Isaiahis 21, Chloe 16, and Bryson 10. Isaiahis is a senior at the University of Memphis. He is working towards a degree in graphic design. Chloe will be a junior in High School. She plans to participate in all the sports she can. She is currently running track. She is really good. The baby of the family, Bryson, will be entering the 6th grade. He is a very bright and charismatic young man. They are all so smart, and I take so much pride in their education as I will do for my students. I am very passionate about my career and plan to continue to perfect my craft. This will be an amazing school year and I can wait to meet my class!
