How do I contact my counselor?

Who do I contact about a student’s academic or mental health issues or need a parent/teacher conference?
First, reach out to your teacher should you have any academic issues and or need a parent/teacher conference. If you are having mental health issues, contact your counselor.

How do I contact the school’s mental health team?
Students would make a request through their counselor to contact Ms. Harrington and Mr. Q. Johnson, the school's mental health clinicians. Here is a list of stress management tips.
If you need support quickly, parents and students can call the SEL Hotline at 901- 416-8484. A staff member will be available to help you Monday-Friday from 9 AM-4 PM.

How do I request a driver's permit form (Certification of Compulsory School Attendance)
Students must have satisfactory grades and attendance in order to receive a certificate of compulsory school attendance form. Requests must be made by noon on Tuesday to be available for pickup on Wednesdays from 10 A.M. -1 P.M. See Mrs. Wilkerson, 9th grade administrative assistant.

How can I recover a credit or gain a new credit?
First, make a request to your counselor. Your counselor will enroll you in the appropriate course.
- Project Graduation - students can earn credits after school.
- Grade Results - This is a virtual platform to recover a failed course. Login with your lunch number and password1.
- Memphis Virtual School - This is a virtual platform to take new courses. Login with your lunch number & password1.
- Other options are summer school and Dual Enrollment. See your counselor for more information.

How do I know if I am exempt from mid term & final exams?
A student with a 90 or higher average for the two terms in a specific course and three (3) or fewer excused absences in that same course will be exempted from the semester exam if the student desires. 12th grade students are eligible for exam exemption during both semesters. All other students in high school courses who meet the above requirements may be exempted for only the second semester exam.
