Who We Are

  • Shrine School is a public school in Memphis, Tennessee serving students with multiple disabilities and dual diagnoses ages 4-22 years old who live in Shelby County.  At our school we have a highly trained and skilled staff of teachers, therapists, nurses, administrators, and support staff who work together to meet the daily needs of our students and provide them with the best instruction and care available to them and designed for each student based on their individualized education program.

Our school focuses on a curriculum that emphasizes academic growth, fine and gross motor skill development, and sensory stimulation.  Students are exposed to a variety of activities such as reading, sports, swimming, and participate in community-based instruction where they can practice functional and daily living skills.  Every week, our students visit the gym for physical activity and the library to practice literacy skills.  They also participate in special events, art projects, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and hearing and vision services.

Here at Shrine School, we believe that our students are outstanding.  While most of our students have multiple disabilities that impact their daily lives, they do not let their circumstances limit them. We believe that each student has the ability to learn and that, together at Shrine, we achieve the extraordinary.
