Recorder Ensemble

Recorder Ensemble consists of auditioned 5th grade students. The Idlewild Recorder Ensemble is a nationally recognized ensemble that has been selected to perform at the American Orff Schulwerk Association's national conference and is one of the few elementary ensembles that has been selected to perform at the Tennessee Music Education Association's conference.  This ensemble has a history of high level of performance and can be seen performing for Shelby County School Board meetings, at district ArtsFest events, at local adopters performing pop-up concerts, leading the Dr. Seuss/Book Character Parade through the halls, and at other school-wide performances.
