Jacqueline Brown Lewis

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Double Tree Elementary. I am truly honored to become part of a community where success is the only option.

I am a native Memphian and graduate of Whitehaven High school. I attended LeMoyne-Owen College where I earned a degree in Mathematics before continuing to obtain a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Special Education from University of Memphis. I received an Administrative Leadership degree from Bethel University. I’ve successfully completed Leadership programs from Memphis-Shelby County Schools Aspiring Leaders, New Leaders Emerging, and Aspiring Leaders. I have earned notable academic achievements as a Classroom Teacher, Instructional Coach, and an Assistant Principal. This school year will mark my 15th year in public education with Memphis-Shelby County Schools.

I believe that Double Tree is a pillar in the heart of Westwood that creates G.E.Ms - Gifted Scholars, Educated by the best teachers and staff, On a Mission towards Mastery. It is my belief that all scholars have the ability to learn and achieve any goal they set. I plan to assist our teachers and staff in providing a spirit of CARE by being effective Communicators who are Aware, Reflective and Educated by being Respectful, Responsible, and Resourceful. I will assist students in reaching their full potential by helping them set goals, model clear expectations, and motivating scholars to “Never Give Up!” As your school leader you can expect me to lead by example, service my community with pride, and inspire others to succeed. I look forward to meeting with all stakeholders as well as seek your assistance in working towards maintaining Double Tree’s success and carrying out our school vision in being the Very Best School in the Whole Wide World.
