Mrs. Kimberly Shaw
Mrs. Kimberly Shaw is a graduate of Memphis Central High School, and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she began her journey into the field of education. Upon graduation in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education (K-8), she began her career as a 3rd grade teacher in Hamilton County Schools. She moved back to Memphis in 1999, and joined the legacy Memphis City Schools System, where she worked for 11 years as an elementary and middle school educator and Literacy Leader. During her tenure at MCS, Ms. Shaw held numerous leadership positions in her schools and was selected to participate in the esteemed Leadership Scholars Program through the University of Memphis Center for Urban School Leadership. Upon completion of this program in 2008, Mrs. Shaw earned her Master's Degree and obtained a position in school administration with the legacy of the Shelby County Schools district. In 2009, she was offered the Assistant Principalship at the new Highland Oaks Middle School, followed by selection to fill the Vice Principal position at Snowden K-8 Optional School in 2015. After 3 years at Snowden, Mrs. Shaw was appointed as the Principal of Rozelle Optional Elementary School in the Fall of 2018. Mrs. Shaw is elated to once again join the Ridgeway IB Middle World Optional School family as the newly appointed Principal for the 2022-2023 school year. Kimberly Shaw is the doting mother of two daughters and a son and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She enjoys reading, shopping, being a "sports mom", and spending time with family in her spare time.
