Mrs. Camelita McLeod

Instructional Facilitator Camelita McLeod is a native Memphian and a product of Memphis City Schools where she began her education career as a Reading/Math Interventionist Lead. For three years, she took great joy in closing literacy and numeracy gaps for KK through 5th grade students in the Orange Mound community. After graduating from Victory University with Honors, she accepted her first job teaching Math at Ridgeway IB MiddleShe has had the honor of serving Ridgeway IB Middle students and community members for the past 7 years as a “Level 5” Math educator 

In accepting this position, her beliefs still stand strong. She believes that all students deserve a school filled with love and opportunity for success. She believes in giving 100% to train tomorrow’s leaders today and will work tirelessly to ensure that this happens.  

Her personal vision is to inspire and motivate teachers to empower their students to be invested in their own growth and achievement by building meaningful relationships with teachers and students, so that they can collaborate honestly and she can support them in any areas of growth. She also seeks to provide relevant differentiated professional learning opportunities to build teacher instructional capacity in team meetings and through co-teaching/co-planning opportunities to ensure that all students receive a high-quality education.  


She is committed to working to increase growth and achievement of Ridgeway IB Middle students by preparing teachers to plan and execute lessons where students think critically, collaborate effectively, and persevere to meet lesson outcomes each day.
