Welcome Message from Comeshia Williams: Rooted in Purpose, Rising Together
Dear Northaven Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! I’m thrilled to begin another meaningful year of learning, growth, and connection with each of you. Whether you’re a returning family or joining us for the first time, know that you are a vital part of our Northaven community.
I’m Comeshia Williams, your Professional Learning Communities Coach and Title I Facilitator. This year marks my 26th year of service at Northaven Elementary, and my commitment to this incredible school remains stronger than ever. It is an honor to walk alongside such dedicated educators, resilient students, and engaged families.
This year, our shared focus continues to center on student achievement, daily attendance, and meaningful family engagement. As your PLC Coach, I collaborate closely with teachers to strengthen instruction, support professional growth, and align our work with our Title I goals.
Northaven continues to grow as a hub of opportunity through our designation as a Community School. Thanks to our full-time Community Schools Coordinator and a growing network of partners, we provide wraparound supports that uplift the entire family. We are proud to offer a well-stocked Pantry for families in need and an expanded Title I Parent Resource Room—a welcoming space where caregivers can access academic materials, technology, and valuable support. This space is open and designed with you in mind: a place to learn, grow, and feel empowered to support your child’s educational journey.
We are also deepening our commitment to practices that support emotional well-being and a calm, focused school climate. Through intentional moments of breathing, reflection, and emotional awareness woven into our daily routines, we’re helping students and staff develop the tools they need to thrive not just academically, but personally. These simple yet powerful practices make a difference in how we show up for ourselves and each other.
Family engagement remains at the heart of our work. Whether you attend a parent meeting, help your child with homework, or join us for an event, your presence matters. This year, we’ll continue offering both in-person and virtual options to meet your needs and ensure every family has a voice and a seat at the table.
At Northaven, we live out the values of STINGERS: Sharing, Tolerant, Intelligent, Nurturing, Generous, Eager, Ready Students. These are more than words; they reflect who we are and who we’re becoming.
Here’s to a year of purpose, connection, and limitless possibilities. I can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together.
With gratitude and high hopes,
Comeshia Williams
