Mrs. Shelia Lewis

Hello. My name is Sheila Lewis, and I am ecstatic to be here at Highland Oaks, teaching our children in the Functional Skills class. This is my tenth year as an Exceptional Children’s teacher and my first year at Highland Oaks.

I am a native of California. I received my BA degree at San Francisco State University and my Master’s at Freed Hardman University. I am married, and we have three kindhearted children, two girls, and one boy. Teaching is my passion and I look forward to an exciting and successful school year.

Ms. Karen Tyson

I am originally from Chicago, Illinois but moved to Memphis as a small child and am a product of Memphis City Schools. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis and am currently working on my Masters in Special Education. I am entering my 15th year in Education. I have taught Head Start, Kindergarten and 1st grades. This will be my first year teaching Functional Skills and I look forward to the challenge.

Ms. Kimisha Underwood

Let’s get excited about learning! We will begin our 2023 - 2024 school year! I am Kimisha Underwood, your Pre-K SPED Teacher, and I am thrilled that we will spend our year together. I have had the joy of teaching Pre-K SPED, kindergarten, and first grade during my 10 years of teaching.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Education with a K-12  Special Education Endorsement from The University of Memphis.  I am the proud mother of one son. The best part of teaching is having you in my class.
