Mrs. Comeshia Williams

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!  My name is Comeshia Williams and it is my pleasure to serve as your Professional Learning Communities Coach and Title I Facilitator. This marks my 22nd year at Northaven Elementary and I look forward to another productive year full of teaching and learning.

I am excited about all this new school year has to offer, and look forward to working collectively as a family to ensure that our students are provided the best educational experiences possible.  As the Title I PLC Coach I will work alongside teachers supporting classroom instruction and assure the school complies with all Title I laws and requirements.  We will work together to increase the quality and effectiveness of what is done daily to improve student learning.

For years Northaven has operated as a community school.  We have worked diligently to provide services and supports that meet the needs of the community.  I am excited to announce that Northaven is now one of nine Community Schools in the Memphis Shelby County Schools district.  We welcome our new Community Schools Coordinator and look forward to opening our new and improved Title I Parent Resource room.  You will receive additional information about our new resources and programs throughout the school year.

We will continue to focus on student achievement, attendance, and parental involvement.  These are essential components for student success, and we need your support.  It takes a team to provide a safe and structured learning environment for all our students.  We are that team.

When parents are engaged in their child’s school life, students have the support they need to achieve more.  I will work closely with you as we provide school-based parent involvement information, training, and resources.  I look forward to you joining me in this process.  You will receive notices and information throughout the school year to keep you informed about the progress of your child.  I will also update you on the status of our school in making progress toward helping all our children show mastery on all academic standards.  I also look forward to your attendance at school meetings and activities.  This year we will offer in-person and virtual parent meetings and training sessions for your convenience.  Our goal is to provide you with multiple opportunities to engage with the school so that we can work together to support our children.

Remember, at Northaven we are STINGERS!

Sharing, Tolerant, Intelligent, Nurturing, Generous, Eager, Ready, Students!!!!!

Yours in Education,

Mrs.  Comeshia Williams
