Established in 1987, Middle College has a rich tradition of preparing students for college and life. Our mission is to immerse students in a safe collegiate and academically challenging learning environment that prepares them to communicate effectively, think critically, value diversity, and engage in service to others in and beyond high school. Middle College will foster a safe and nurturing atmosphere of academic innovation. We have enthusiastic teachers, supportive parents, and involved community partners who will unite as the driving force to prepare students to become self-motivated, self-disciplined, and socially responsible individuals.
Middle College is so much more than a great academic institution. We believe in developing students with sustaining characteristics that will enable them to become change agents for Memphis, our country and our world. Middle College offer our students additional opportunities to fuel their individual passions and pursuits through a wide range of clubs, honor societies, and activities.

Honors, AP Courses ,Dual Enrollment, and AP Access for All:
In addition to Honors' courses, eligible students are able to access our Advanced Placement( AP) and Dual Enrollment (DE) courses. These courses provide students with the opportunity to receive college credits while concurrently enrolled in high school. Additional Dual Enrollment courses are provided on the campus of Christian Brothers University, when eligibility is met.

GATHER YOUR DOCUMENTS !!!!!!!!!!
RISING 9TH GRADERS
- A copy of most recent 2023-2024 report card. (If your application is submitted prior to the 2nd quarter report card, it will be required at the time of your interview)
- A copy of school discipline record.
- A copy of school attendance record.
- In Power School, click "Attendance Info" then print or save to pdf (the first page is sufficient)
- In Power School, on the left side under "Administration" click "log entries" and "incidents"; both reports should be printed or save to pdf. Please note: if the student does not have any behavioral issues, the sheet will be blank.
- ACT Scores, (optional) Students who score a 19 or higher on the ACT will be eligible to take Dual Enrollment Courses. All students are required to take the ACT prior to the 2024-2025 School Year.
- A 1-2 page essay that answers the following question: “How will the Early College program help you fulfill your dreams?”
RISING 10TH-12TH GRADERS
- A copy of most current recent report card. (If your application is submitted prior to the 2nd quarter report card, it will be requested at the time of your interview)
- A copy of most recent transcript (If your application is submitted prior to the 1st semester of the 2023-2024 school year, it will be required at the time of your interview)
- A copy of school discipline record.
- A copy of school attendance record.
- In Power School, on the left side under "Administration" click "log entries" and "incidents"; both reports should be printed or save to pdf. Please note: if the student does not have any behavioral issues, the sheet will be blank.
- A copy of most recent ACT test scores for 11th-12th Graders. (Prior to the first day of the 2024-2025 school year, all students must have an ACT score on file)
- ACT Scores, Students who score a 19 or higher on the ACT will be eligible to take Dual Enrollment Courses. Scores must be received from ACT by June 1.
- A 1-2 page essay that answers the following question: “How will the Early College program help you fulfill your dreams?”
REMEMBER
Students/Parents are responsible for sending the Recommendation Form link to your Principal/Administrator or Counselor.

Application Opens on
Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 10am.
Early admission deadline is Thursday, February 15, 2024 for a guaranteed interview.
Click the button below to fill out the Shelby County Schools General Choice Transfer Application & follow these steps:
- Click Apply for General Choice
- Select "My child is NOT zoned for or on an approved transfer to the school I am requesting"
- Complete the Application
- Choose Middle College High School as your choice school
- Upload required documents within the General Choice Application

All required documents listed above must be uploaded within the application at the time of completing the application; otherwise, the student will be ineligible for an interview. Students and parents should not complete the application until they have collected all required documents. Students and parents will not be able to return to the application to upload additional documents after the application is submitted.
After your application has been processed and reviewed, you will be invited to participate in an interview. Please check your email regularly!
