Dr. Jodie A. Higgs is a product of the Memphis City School System, having graduated with honors from Central High School. She continued her education at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Logistics and Transportation. She then entered Union University to receive a Master of Art in Education, an Education Specialist degree, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership.
She is a 17th-year educator with Memphis Shelby County Schools, where she taught courses in Business Education, Business Technology and Computer Science. Currently, she is the PLC Coach at Central High School, where she supports teachers in providing high-quality instruction to students as well as ensures that students receive everything they need to be successful.
Professionally, she is involved in various committees and organizations. Her professional expertise has been featured at a variety of local, state, and national professional learning conferences.
