Mr. James Q. Bacchus II

Mr. James Q. Bacchus II, principal of Kingsbury Middle School, has an extensive background in secondary education and administration. He has served Memphis-Shelby County Schools in a variety of positions, thus allowing him to gain invaluable experience in all aspects of public education. Mr. Bacchus began his teaching career in Metro Nashville Public Schools as a Business Education teacher. He then began teaching at American Way Middle in 2007 and since then he has served this district as an assistant principal at alternative, traditional, and international baccalaureate high schools for 10 years. He has received certificates from the National Urban Education Center for Urban Education Leadership, Harvard for Turnaround Schools and Aspiring Principals program, and Shelby County Schools Leadership3. He credits his time serving this district as excellent preparation for his position as head principal of Kingsbury Middle School.

Mr. Bacchus says he is honored to be the principal of Kingsbury Middle School. He appreciates the international diversity, academic, athletic, and co-curricular traditions that are well established at the school and greatly values the strong parent and community support. He looks forward to seeing the Falcons continue to show P.R.I.D.E. of excellence in all that they do for many years to come.
