All A’s and B’s with no more than one C on the most recent comprehensive report card as a semester average.
- Scores at or above the 70th percentile on the aReading and aMath tests of FastBridge, the 2019 Spring TNReady English Language Arts and Mathematics tests, the 2019 Spring NWEA Map Reading and Math test, or the equivalent on a current nationally normed standardized test.

Satisfactory conduct as evidenced by no N’s or U’s on the most recent comprehensive report card.

Satisfactory attendance using the standard that a total of more than 15 absences and/or tardies in one school year is considered unsatisfactory.

If your child stays in our optional program for the full three year period, by the time they leave us as 8th grade students, they will have the opportunity to complete an accelerated course load and some of their high school level coursework.

2021-2022 Virtual & In-Person Registration

REGISTRATION FOR 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR VIRTUAL & IN PERSON OPPORTUNITIES
The District will launch Online Registration beginning Monday, April 12 for all new and returning students in Shelby County Schools. Critical updates to demographic data, opt-in/out, and health information are required this year. Students who do not register will not be considered enrolled for the 2021-22 school year.
- Virtual Enrollment sessions for parents will be available through sign-up genius beginning April 12th.
- Virtual Registration through SCS iChoose email beginning April 12th.
- We will host a 6th grade orientation (Date to be determined)
- In-Person Registration events in May and throughout the summer months
More opportunities to register are to come and will be announced.

The SCS Board Cares Utility Assistance Fund will allow qualifying Shelby County Schools (SCS) families to receive grant money to pay MLGW bills and prevent utilities from being disconnected. The one-time grant, funded by private donations, will help prevent students from missing important virtual instruction.

The Naviance platform is a comprehensive college, career, and life readiness solution that provides students a place to explore and document their educational journey, improving their outcomes and connecting learning to life.
Students at GMS will begin to use this platform in 8th grade and throughout their high school experience.
