I am Dr. James A. Patton and I am honored to serve as Principal of The Winchester Elementary School. With a total of 14 years of experience as an educator, I have served in Metro Nashville Public Schools as a substitute teacher, a teacher’s assistant, 1^st grade teacher, 4^th grade teacher, and Dean of Students. I served various schools across that district, but majority of my time was at Thomas Edison Elementary School. My tenure with Shelby County Schools includes Robert R. Church Elementary, Keystone Elementary and now The Winchester Elementary School. I believe education is the great equalizer for all students who come from various socio-economic backgrounds and as an educator, I will always be an advocate for the students I serve. A solid educational foundation is needed to help garner future success in school and in life and educators have a responsibility to meet their students where they are to help provide them with the tools they need to succeed. I am happy to be a part of a team to help the children in 38116 be the next generation of great thinkers and productive citizens of our great city and the world. I am proud to lead this great group of passionate educators and we will continue to do great things for this school and this community.
