Memphis Virtual School is a fully accredited online school serving Shelby County Schools students in grades K-12. MVS is committed to preparing students for college and careers, by providing the best online education possible to reach their academic goals. Students in grades 9-12 are enrolled in courses required to meet graduation requirements. In addition to core subjects, like math, language arts, science and social studies we offer a variety of electives, Honors, Advanced Placement (AP) and College and Careers, and Technical Education (CCTE) courses. Our high school courses are approved by the NCAA to meet their academic eligibility requirements. Upon meeting graduation requirements, students receive a high school diploma and college credits (if applicable).
All courses are facilitated by experienced and highly qualified instructors who hold active teaching licensure with endorsements and/or certifications in the subject(s) they teach. Virtual Instructors receive ongoing professional development with an emphasis on providing a wholistic and equitable educational experience for students learning in an online environment.
Memphis Virtual School is a proud CompTIA Academy Partner. Through this partnership we help Shelby County Schools students acquire IT certifications and enhance student career opportunities. MVS is also an approved CompTIA testing site which allows candidates to register for and take certification exams. These exams are administered by staff that are approved proctors and accessed by Internet-connected PCs.

Students who live within our school attendance zone do not have to submit a school choice application. They can simply register when the early registration period opens for the new school year.
Students who live outside the attendance zone can submit a General Choice Transfer Application beginning January 26, 2021. Applications are based on available space in the school and are processed in the order they are received.
