Mrs. DANIELLE BERRY-LEACH

Hailing from a small town called Cary, MS, Danielle Berry-Leach has served in Education for the last 18 years. She served as an English Educator for over 10 years and has served as an Instructional Leader since 2016. Currently resides in Cordova, TN with her husband Demetrius Leach who is also an Assistant Principal. They have three children Allison, Michael, and DeVaughn. She has worked in several capacities such as Head of School, Curriculum Developer, and Dean of Instruction. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc and was initiated into the Gamma Omicron Chapter of Tougaloo College, the premiere chapter. She is currently working toward the completion of her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. Her hobbies are traveling, watching the Tennessee Titans,mentoring, crafting, and spending quality time with loved ones. Education is very personal for her as she has experienced firsthand the impact of being given a false sense of success due to the lack of exposure to rigorous text and task. She has had the esteemed honor of being a part of New Leaders Emerging Leaders and Aspiring Principals Cohort along with Memphis ILPD Relay cohort 2018-2020.

Dr. NEWMAN C ROBERTSON

Dr. Newman C. Robertson was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has lived in Memphis for over 14 years and moved here in August 2005 to escape the destructive path of Hurricane Katrina. He has been in education for over 30 years. He is a military veteran and have served 27 years in the United States Air Force Reserve. He has attended the following colleges and earned the following degrees: Community College of the Air Force (Associates Degree – Munitions Technology), Southern University of New Orleans (Bachelor of Science – Business Administration with a minor in Economics), Xavier University of New Orleans (Master of Arts in Teaching – Mathematics Education), and the University of Mississippi (Education Specialist and Doctor of Philosophy – Educational Leadership). As an educator, he has taught in Louisiana (13years), Tennessee (14 years), and Mississippi (3 years). As an Air Force veteran, he has served in various operations including Operation Desert Shield/Storm, Operation Deny Flight, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Noble Eagle. Dr. Robertson has served is a variety of leadership roles in Memphis Shelby County Schools to include principal, assistant principal, and math department lead. He has taught at Hillcrest High School, Dexter Middle School, and Kirby High School.

Mr. GENE TRAYNOM

Gene Traynom has worked in education for thirteen years as a Social Studies Teacher, ILT Team Member, Coach, and Assistant Principal. As a Social Studies Teacher, Mr. Traynom created a classroom that that encouraged his students to engage with History content by making connections between past and current events. Mr. Traynom was also successful in earning Level 5 TVASS score on the state end of course exam for multiple consecutive years.

As an Assistant Principal Mr. Traynom was successful in helping instate a culture and climate for the school that values learning and critical thinking in the classroom.

Mr. Traynom has been married for 15 years and has 3 wonderful children. Mr. Traynom graduated from The University of Memphis with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Mr. Traynom also received his Ed.S from Arkansas State University.

Mr. BRIAN WALKER

Brian T. Walker has been an educator for seventeen years. Mr. Walker’s service as an educator spans across several local schools in the district both as a classroom teacher and grade chair. Mr. Walker has earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from The University of Tennessee at Martin and Masters of Education degree from Union University, and an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Supervision from Freed Hardeman University. He is currently working toward the completion of his Doctorate in School Leadership from Freed Hardeman University. 

Mr. Walker began his teaching career as a high school Art history teacher and eventually transitioned to middle/ elementary school. 

Before joining the Mt. Pisgah faculty, Mr. Walker served as the school facilitator for Hamilton K-8 School.
