Dr. Trenton M. Watson is a native of Memphis, TN and a lifelong educator.  He is a graduate of Tennessee State University, Cumberland University, and the University of Arizona.  Dr. Watson has worked in several different capacities within the school system, from teacher to Vice Principal.  He believes that learning is never by accident and that the most intelligent people don’t have all the answers but instead seek the right information.  “Having grown up in Memphis, it is with extreme delight that I am able to help service the students of this great city!”  

Currently, Dr. Watson comes to Westwood High school as the newly appointed Principal.  He works each day to ensure that students are given the best opportunity to succeed at the highest level.  From his words of inspiration for the students to motivational messages to the teachers, Dr. Trenton Watson is secure in his belief that all students can learn if given the resources and time to do so.   

Principal Message:   

I am honored to be serving as the Principal of Westwood High School. I am excited to be joining the Longhorn community. WHS is a special place with outstanding students, supportive parents, alumni, and excellent teachers. Westwood High School has long been a standard for comprehensive high schools in Memphis and I am excited to become a part of the family to help bring that tradition back. 
 
As we make a few changes in leadership at WHS, we have an amazing opportunity to continue the expansion of the remarkable academic programs offered for students. Beyond the rigorous yet inspiring courses, students can expect to have a fulfilling high school experience with many clubs and activities to ignite their passions. Athletically, we expect to see our student-athletes reaffirm the Westwood tradition of competing to the fullest with honor and class. In the end, we want to win in academics, the arts, athletics, and activities. 
 
The mission of Westwood High School is to prepare students to be successful in their academic, personal, and professional lives. Student performance, during and after high school, proves that Westwood High School is the place to be for a quality comprehensive high school education. In addition to our ambitious students, our parent and community support allows WHS to be the best the state has to offer and compete with schools at the national level.
