  • Attention H E S Parents:

Please Do Not drop students off before 8 A.M.  Students are being dropped off as early as 7:15 A.M.  There is no adult supervision outside and students are NOT allowed entry into the building until 8:00 A.M.  If this isn’t possible, please reach out to the YMCA and ask about their morning before school program at H E S. This Includes students who walk or ride their bikes to school.  Student Safety is a top priority.  We love our students, however  H E S is not liable for incidents that happen with students prior to 8 A.M.   Administration will begin to document students who have been left unattended in the morning. This is a huge safety concern, and we are grateful for your cooperation with this matter. Thank you!

  • Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) has adopted a new 10-point grading scale for students starting this fall.

During the June 28th Board meeting, the Shelby County School Board of Education approved revisions to Policy 5014 (grades Pre-K-5) and Policy 5015 (grades 6-12) to adopt a 10-point grading scale. The new grading scale, aligned with recent changes in Tennessee state law, will go into effect beginning with the 2022-23 school year.

Below is a representation of the former MSCS grading scale and the newly adopted scale.
