Dress Code Policy
- Pants must be worn at the waist and must be appropriately sized and at a safe length. Pants with rips and holes are NOT allowed to be worn at school.
- All shirts must be worn as intended, not tied up, torn, or altered in any way. All shirts must provide appropriate coverage: shoulders, stomachs, backs, undergarments, and chest area must be covered. Low-cut dresses, blouses, shirts, or tops or extremely tight tops, tube tops, camisoles, and tank tops, or any top that exposes cleavage are prohibited. Female students may wear sleeveless garments which adequately cover undergarments.
- Head apparel (such as hoods, hats, wave caps, etc.), except for religious or medical purposes, must not be worn inside the school building.
- Footwear is required and must be safe and appropriate for indoor and outdoor activity. Slides, sandals with no straps, flip flops, slippers, and/or house shoes are NOT permitted.
- Clothing and accessories such as backpacks, patches, jewelry, and notebooks must not display (1) racial or ethnic slurs/symbols, (2) gang affiliations, (3) vulgar, subversive, or sexually suggestive images; nor should they promote products that students may not legally buy; such as alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs.
- Skirts, dresses, and shorts must be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee.
- Sleepwear, pajamas, and/or blankets CANNOT be worn in school.
- Waist-length sweaters, sweatshirts, and lightweight jackets can be worn inside the school for warmth.
- Prohibited items include: (1) large, long, and/or heavy chains, (2) studded or chained accessories, (3) sunglasses, except for health purposes, (4) picks and/or rat tail combs, and (5) stretch pants, leggings, tights, jeggings, yoga pants, and pants made of spandex are strictly prohibited. Athletic-type pants may be worn only during physical education classes.
- The school administration reserves the right to determine whether the student’s attire is within the limits of decency, modesty, and safety.
Note: The principal may allow exceptions in special circumstances or occasions such as holidays or special performances and may further prescribe dress in certain classes such as physical education, vocational classes, and science labs.

Cell Phone Policy
Students are NOT to have their cell phones out in class without permission from that teacher.
Cell phones may not be used in the hallway to make calls, go live on social media, take pictures, or impede the flow of traffic in the halls.
Cell phones may be used in the cafeteria during the scheduled breakfast and lunch periods.
Headphones should not be used in the classrooms and hallways. Headphones are only permissible during the scheduled breakfast and lunch periods.
Smartwatches, iPods, and any other electronic/communication device must be turned OFF during instructional time.
Cell Phone Consequences
- 1st offense- the student will be asked to put the phone away.
- 2nd offense- the phone will be confiscated and given to an administrator and kept until a parent comes and retrieve it.
- (If the student refuses, he/she will receive an immediate 3 day suspension)
- 3rd offense- the phone will be confiscated until a parent or guardian comes and retrieve the phone.
- (If the student refuses he/she will receive an immediate 5 day suspension)
- 4th offense- Parents will be advised that the student can’t bring his/her cellphone to school.

Arrival & Dismissal
- Student Arrival
- Students enter the rear of the building next to the cafeteria.
- All students will go through the metal detector.
- Students will either go to the cafeteria and eat breakfast or go and sit in the gym.
- Students must remain in either location until the bell rings at 7:15 am.
- Students who arrive after 9:00 a.m. must enter at the front of the school near the main office.
- Hallway Transitions
- Students are to orderly move in the halls to their next class.
- Students must adhere to all SCS COVID 19 Protocols including not stopping and talk with their friends.
- Student Dismissal
- All students will exit through the courtyard.
- Gates will be closed at 3:00 pm.
- All students will remain outside of the building until 3:25 pm.
- If a student is attending an after-school event and/or activity including after-school tutoring, the teacher or school sponsor will meet them outside and bring them back in the building. No students will be allowed back into the buildings after 3:00 p.m. without adult supervision.

Optional Schools
- Our Informational Technology Optional program prepares learners for post-secondary opportunities and the ever-expanding digital workplace.
- Students take courses such as computer science foundation, coding I & II, website design, and website foundations
- Students can graduate from Wooddale with industry certification in the aforementioned subjects.

What is a Ready Graduate?
For students to be considered Ready Graduates, they must meet at least one of the following four
Ready Graduate criteria:
- A score of 21 or higher on the ACT (or 1060 or higher on the SAT),
- Complete 4 EPSOs,
- Complete 2 EPSOs and earn an industry credential,
- Complete 2 EPSOs and earn a score of military readiness on ASVAB AFQT.

Covid-19 Protocols
Students will practice social distancing to every extent possible. This includes the hallways, classrooms, cafeteria, gym, auditorium, restrooms, and outside during dismissal.
Students will be required to wear their masks over their noses & mouth at all times.
Students who aren’t feeling well will be escorted to the safe room.
Students who are exhibiting symptoms are encouraged to remain at home.
Students who ride the bus must follow all of SCS protocols while riding the bus.
