This is my 10th year at Highland Oaks Middle. I have been teaching for 29 years, and the majority of those years I have taught Reading/English. I have a bachelor's degree in English Language Arts, and have completed several master’s courses in the education field. Reading and writing is a life-long passion of mine and I love sharing this passion with my students. 
 
​I have a personal teaching philosophy that I adhere to on a daily basis. It is as follows: I believe the classroom is a living community that everyone must contribute to in order to sustain an optimal, positive learning environment. All students are individuals and all students have their own way of learning. I use a variety of teaching methods in an effort to reach all students and to promote academic success.
